Title: grinding in reverse
Post by: crez0 on 28 February 2008, 20:28
I'm getting a grinding noise whe I'm reverse. It sounds like it's coming from the rear wheels themselves, like a metal on metal scrapping noise, like somethings grinding. Does anyone have any ideas what the hell this could be? Got my MOT in 3 weeks and want to see if it;s anything I can sort before hand as I've got a feeling it's going to cost me a bit to get it through as it is!

It's a mk3 golf by the way.

Anyone else had this problem?

just had new pads fitted and still the same. if it was some problem with the brakes themselves surely it wouldn't be only in reverse? Any idea WHAT specifically it might be relating to the brakes as it seems to be from both sides.

Nice one, I'll have a look. I've tested forward and backwards with wondows open and not. there's def no noise going forward, as it happens evern at rediculously low speeds where there's nearly no enginenoise. I'll have look tomorrow though.
