Hi guys,

could somebody please tell me the size of the rear VW badge on the tailgate of a MK3?

Thanks mate, that's lucky coz i just won one that's 60mm hehe

How's your TT engine conversion going?

Remember me, i bought your gearbox for my brother's MK3 a few months back.  It's in the bodyshop now getting a full repaint - just thought i'd replace the badge with a Wolfsburg item.

haha how is the box ,mine is nearly done engine and wiring all in just need to do the ecu and its back on the road -just been getting cash together for the bigger turbo on not much done on the car its self- buit the rest is done all the brakes calipers are on and bled.what colour is it getting painted ?

Sounds good mate, it's a lovely colour yours.

It's getting painted in the same colour, not doing anything exciting.  It had a few marks here and there and it just wasn't worth touching up.  His mate scraped it all the way down the drivers side with his car at the works car park - dozy sod!

But he owned up straight away and paid for the damage, so we just figured we'll just put some more in and get the whole car done.  He's me little bro so i'll go halves with him as it was his first car and i went halves with him on everything for it.

The box is sweet (touch wood)  really gave the car a new lease of life!!

Just to let you guys know in case anyone is thinking of replacing their rear VW emblem on a MK3 Tailgate, the ones on ebay seem to be totally the wrong size.

I've been through two already!

The actual size of the rear emblem is 75mm.

The last one i bought off Volksbits which is clearly listed as a MK3 badge, is actually 85mm so it's too big!!

Just gonna stick the original VW one back on.  What a pain in the a$$!
