Title: Vag-com HELP?

Hi all I have just got myself a Vag-com lead from Ebay it came with a software disk. So I have loaded all the software on to my Laptop and followed the instructions how to down load the drivers etc.
It says that every thing is working OK when I connect the lead to the laptop via the USB port so then i fire up the Vag-com programme and it says i need to test the interface and com port.
I do the test its says the com port is working but there is no interface any ideas??

are you using com 3 setting in vag com? if not set it to that and try again you also have to go into control panel on your pc,system,hardware, device manager, ports and make sure the usb one is set at com 3. this worked for me .

Ive tried that still the same do I have to plug it in to the car to get the Interface to work?

OK looked at the COM port settings changed it to COM 3 and it worked  :smiley:
