Title: How much for a fairly good GTi?
Post by: ichbintk on 26 February 2008, 15:56
Hey everyone,
I'm hoping to change my mk3 (non-GTi) for a mk1 Gti next feb . Just wondering what I should expect to pay for a solid car thats mechanically sound? I'm not worried about cosmetic stuff as I can sort a lot of that out myself. Furthermore, how much difference is there between the running costs of a mk3 like mine and a mk1? (Assume that I will do a lot of the fairly easy maintenance at home - something I don't do with the mk3 as I don't dare touch a lot of it).
Thanks in advance,
Tom

home maintainence is easy as, the k jet engines are a doddle to work with and the cars are simplistic enough.

are you after a near std motor, id be looking at the 1500-2k mark for a good nick original gti or a specced up motor
