Had my car key's stolen from work last night, along with the sigma alarm key fob! And the worst thing is, i have'nt got any spare, they were the only set. Anybody have any idea's on how to get a replacement alarm fob and car keys? I thought it might be difficult with it being a 1995 N reg and not knowing where the alarm was installed.
-
Your only hope on the alarm is there may still be some sticker plates on the casing of the alarm its self - under the bonnet or where ever it is - then call the alarm co with the code (if there is one) and hope they send out another fob.
The ignition is a lot easier - but expensive simply take proof of ownership of the car to your vw garage and some docs of the car its self - and from the ch no they should be able to get you a key for that car

Your insurance should sort out the issue with key replacement upto a certain value (normally about £150 I think), give them a bell. It's difficult to replace just the key, all the locks need changing and a new key coded to match the ECU immobiliser if you were to do it yourself. VW through insurance will sort a new coded key. As regards to the alarm, I think you're pretty screwed. Worth paying £200 to have a brand new toad CAT1 alarm fitted. That price will include them coming out to you and fitting the kit aswel as removing your old alarm

Also, just to make thing that much worse, someone came to look at the car on sunday to buy and said they would let me know earlier in the day if they were having it, so i left all the documents in the car under the seat as i was pretty sure he was gonna come back and buy it, but he never and i didnt take the docs out! So all the car documents are still in the car  Think i am truly f**ked then

SIGMA went a few years back when they were bought out by toad. Unfortunately trying to talk to anyone about SIGMA is practically impossible. Replacement keyfobs are readily available for £50.00 new but also come up on eBay quite often, where I got my spare in fact!
I had a thread about them a while back when I was after a spare!?
Easy enough to tune in a new fob too, don't need the alarm details for many of them but obviously helpful when trying to explain things to an alarm specialist.
Does it look like these by any chance??

Do you not have a spare key at all???
Getting into it wise you could pop a piece of glass, check what the local scrappy has to offer first though in case you have to replace it.
-
Hi mate, yeh thats the fob i need as it happens. So do you reckon i buy a replacement one of them off ebay etc? Wouldnt have a clue how to program it in though. If i can get that sorted, its a good start, then i'll have to go to VW and somehow get them to ring DVLA to prove i'm the registered keeper so i can get a new key cut. No i dont have any spare keys or fobs for the car, strange i know.
-
If you buy a replacement fob... whoever has the original can still unlock your car though because the alarm frequency will be the same!
-
It's not worth trying to get a replacement one done, keep in mind someone still has the key and the alarm fob like pete says! Go for the new alarm, if its for sale and someone buys it then it gets stolen with no glass or anything they're gonna think you did it aint they. . . New alarm m'boy!
-
Yeh its a good point. So annoying, nearly sold it sunday aswell, now i'm gonna have to fork out for a new alarm
-
I saw the name of this thread and for a minute thought someone had stolen the actual alarm!!!

If its the original alarm it might be hard to get another fob :/
-
while all this has gone on have you now got your car in your possesion yet ,or still at work or wherever . if not you seriously need to get under the car and immobolise her .slide the dizzy lead off and just place it back on this still looks like its on but wont allow the car to stert
just an idea .hope you get things sorted
-
I was guna say just something like this, or its going to be stolen! I reckon smash the window and turn of the alarm from the box. Then toe it, or hot wire it.
-
mike it's a vw....you can get into them without causing any damage!!
but get it immobilised in someway as cars do walk! especially with the keys....
-
Ring your insurance company, I'm sure tey'll arrange to get your car secured.

every1 forgetting the rather large doors vdubs hav?
get the they put parcels bend it in half push it thru the and up the !
OR get an old and pull the door so will fit down the gap and to make a long rod with a hook on the hold of the door the door! ie the same as pulling the door handle on the inside which unlocks the door..............
take it you kids stayed at school lol!
it's best not tell everybody how to break into car's..especially our cars!!
-
If i unlock my car with the key in the door (same affect as popin it down the glass) my alarm dont go off, it needs the fob. So he cant just pop the lock and hot wire it.......

YES, but you need the alarm fob, if you pop my door open, or even use the key, it wont turn of the alarm, as soon as you open the door the alarm sensors set the alarm off! So you cant just unlock the door with the coat hanger without settin of the alarm.
-
what does that matter?????????????????????????????????????????///
hes not gona get arrested 4 setting off his own alarm!
ill stop afta about 30 secs n he cn lock the drivers door frm the inside, get out the passenger side n push lock down, shut door n its locked again!
ur hard work mikester lol!

Hard work.....hardly, just tryin to think it out before he goes making it worse...... heck.

Yep yep, but i thought he wanted to get it home so it dont get half inched. But yeah, go for it, i would just smash the windscreeen, and pay the insurance £60 to get the new one, 2 birds, 1 stone. literally!

Panic over people! Was at work last night, double checked everywhere where i left them and there was no sign at all, then i was chattin to this lad in the brew room, who i was suspicious about and i mentioned reporting the keys missin to the police, and he didnt seem to react, was very suspicious, then about an hour later, my keys mysteriously turn up, just sitting in the middle of a window sill in the lockers rooms where they went missin. Some f**k*r on my shift was takin the piss big time!! All i'v gotta do now is prove who it was, dont know how, but he will be sacked. So, happy i got them back, what a relief, but soo pissed off that someone i work with is takin the piss, i'll find out somehow. Cheers for the advice people. New pictures coming soon and its going for sale for 1200 quid before any more bad luck comes my way!
-
