Just bought an 8v gti 95 I filled up for the long journey home - as I sqeeze the gas slightly the car seems to be holding back - is it the unleaded or maybe something else?
-
wont be the fuel you put in
-
I didnt think it would be the fuel but I thought I would ask - Cheers Fella!
-
Could be a few things, maybe try fitting a new fuel filter?!
-
The new fuel filter should do the trick.
To improve performance I have tried Slik 50 for oil and petrol.
As an experiment I have run the car on Shell and Esso and for some reason I can get 44mpg on Esso and only 39mpg from Shell.
Have tried the higher octane fuels and the car runs better but I am not sure that it is worth the extra payment
-
where on the car is the fuel filter hiding?
-
right hand side at the back
-
Cheers fella!

Whenever i fill up from my local crappy station my car always preforms weird, and stalls, so i use Shell and tesco premium.
V-POWER all the way
-
Tesco and ASDA all the way for me, the only places around here that do it for 99.9p
-
on the golf i use only Esso or shell, and BP with the jap car it has to be super unleaded no question..
