Title: Mk3 Gti holding back when accelerating
Post by: difficultrogue on 25 February 2008, 21:05

Hi I have just bought a 95 gti 8 valve I picked it up and headed straight for the petrol garage to fill up for the long journey home - The problem is this when squeezing the throttle slightly at cruising speed the car seems to splutter and hold back - something is clearly not good - I have just checked the paper work and it had a service 3000 miles a go! Your help would be appreciated.

Sounds like it could be the old Mk 3 standard problem - ECU Relay!

Worth changing it anyway, they all fail eventually!

I have this same problem with mine, let me know if you sort it out as I would like to know.

Is it intermittant?

Mine has apparantly been replaced but still does it. any suggestions len?
