Hi I have just bought a 95 gti 8 valve I picked it up and headed straight for the petrol garage to fill up for the long journey home - The problem is this when squeezing the throttle slightly at cruising speed the car seems to splutter and hold back - something is clearly not good - I have just checked the paper work and it had a service 3000 miles a go! Your help would be appreciated.

fuel filter? not something they always replace during a service. replaced mine because mine was doing the same thing and all sorted now

Yep Shes booked in for the weekend - New fuel filter time!

Iceberg in the way?

Sounds like it could be the old Mk 3 standard problem - ECU Relay!
Worth changing it anyway, they all fail eventually!
