I thought that all mk1s didn't have brakes ;)
Adds to the "adrenalin factor" - will I stop, wont I stop?
Got fed up of having complete brake fade taking me by surprise when doing some country road driving, so thought it may be wise to uprate it them a bit!!

standard VW discs, and pagid fast road pads all round.
everything new two months ago after coming over the top of a hill in outside lane of dual carriageway at a fair lick to find a caravan sideways in road blocking both lanes.......took a trip over the double white lines to the other side to find enough room to stop, came up a few feet in front of the traffic rozzer who was trying to sort the whole mess out :o :o
don't know who sh!t themselves the most, me or him ;D

Standard vw everything, brand new discs and pads at the back, but at my last service they said the front discs were from a vr6! That's on the mk3 16v. Stops pretty well.
