Title: Radio, not working.
Post by: Jez86gti on 25 February 2008, 18:47
hello, ive made a mistake, wired up my stro, and connected the parking brake wire from head unit to the black wire on speaker loom. cd player does not switch on,  took it to guy in shop, and he wired it with a allways live feed and it works,  said i had blown a fuse somewhere, for it now to work the correct way, checked the fuse board and every thing seems ok,

am i missing somthing else?

please help,

thanks

it worked wen the guy hard wired it to a permant live,   then it worked ok.
if wired up off the harness all tht works is the cd eject.

no, the guy told me trace it back to a fuse, so i toook his advice, checked the fuse for audio on fuse box, thts ok,   got feed live on the wirring harness,   just checking the wires on the harness  if they need switching,

you will need one constant feed -red wire
one switched live from ignition normally yellow and/or red/yellow

there is normally a yellow wire and a red wire with connectors(head unit wiring) swap them round red to yellow and vice versa.
