Was at a rolling road day at starperformance today and was quite pleased with the results as it is just a standard 57 plate GTI with 2500 miles. 217.5 bhp at fly, 174 bhp at wheels and 200 lb-ft

nice 1, good figures, alot of standard cars are makin more than quoted figures which is nice. My ED30 did 248bhp on Awesomes rollers with 1000 miles or so on the clock. Car looks sweet BTW

nice one!
i did a roto test, and got 224, that makes about the 248 at the wheels too i been told?

Jim at Star was saying that since the Edition 30 has been released the standard GTI's are making more power, he reckons that when they were working with the ecu for the Edition 30 the normal GTI got the updates aswell.

awesome result. To be honest this seems the norm these days. The lowest output i've seen is 214bhp as standard. I think the latest s/w update made a difference to my top end power, much more punchy and urgent. All in all a fantastic engine. Also like to add, we've just bought a mini cooper for the missus and that 1.6 na engine is only doing 1 mpg more than the golf. (we both do similar journeys each day)
