Hi... I've had a word with Awesome over in Manchester about fitting some Eibach pro springs to my GTI and have been quoted £340 all in including Re-aligning the wheels/suspension. He said it would drop the car by about 25/30mm which he said is just right and would make the BBS CH's look even better. I was wondering what you lot thought of the idea. I'm not after the slammed down look or a rail track ride, I do like the ride as it is now.... Any comments please are welcome and if anyone has any before and after pic's that would be grand......

I am selling my Eibach pro springs for£80 delivery on top mind.they were used on my Leon FR for a few months.

I fitted Sportline to my old GTi, great springs there not too much between the pro kit and
sportline kit,
I have H&Rs on my Gti now and they sit lower than sportline,
Heres my old car before and after with Sportline -

Hi Rob - I have an edition 30 and am in a similar dilemma to Martin.
Your old car looked a perfect height - exactly the look I'm after.
What made you go for the sportline instead of he pro springs and will they fit the Ed 30?
How was the comfort compared to standard springs? I find the Ed 30 ride very thumpy - even though it's not that hard. Strange, but I've had cars a lot lower and harder but they seemed to handle the bumps a lot better than the Ed 30!
:undecided:

K4ith - why didn't you fit your pro springs to your Ed 30?

I Have a set of Eibach Pro Kit springs which i need to get rid off as i dont have a GTI any more....they have never been used before...if it interests any one, PM me :)

I think the ride quality of the ED30 is fine, better than my old FR.but i need the cash to pay for my brake upgrade.

Hi rob which h&r springs are you using? and whats the ride/handling like compared to standard and the eibach sportlines?
Have you changed the dampers?
How low do the h&r's go?
sorry for all the questions.

Hi,
I am using the H&R Springs part No - 29176-1 they are 30mm Lower than Standard,
They also offer a spring set 45-50mm lower for none gti but i think a gti is around 15mm lower as standard.
H&R sit lower than Sportline but are abit harder i would say, still fine but i am running 19'' CHs also on the Gti now,
Heres how it sits on H&R with 19'' CHs -

Hello again Rob, what is the actual handling like on the h&r springs compared to stock? does it roll less?
I find the standard suspension feels like its going to be hard when going slow but then when you push on it goes all soft, in my opinion it should be the other way round! Do the springs go any way to curing this? or am i looking at coilovers or something to sort that?
Cheers again

Hi Paul,
I think i know what you mean,
The Springs are quite firm all from slow speeds to when the car is pushed hard, difficult to explain,
I think coilovers would do a better job, if the car was tracked etc, but the H&R are fine for a better look and firmer ride,
It seems i have upset Mr Young who reads this forum as the car is now sold, i had the car advertised through my work but selling it privatly myself, sorry i couldnt get a Price for the Passatt PX, but i find it very funny you are ringing my work place asking to speak to the Director.
Can you tell me what is wrong?
Robert
