hi,
i have bought some vw mud flaps from ebay but i cannot work out how to fit them,
they are genuine vw black with a blue vw logo, i think i wanna fit them to the rear ,
here a link to the ebay item with a pic
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=300198151797&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=020
anyone know how to fit them, is it a case of bodge them on or is there a proper way to do it
thanks
-
They dont look genuine too me :undecided:
Id just screm them into the plastics with some self tapping screws pal
-
as soon as they arrived today i looked at them and i thought , they dont look genuine to me either, theres no vw stamp or part number on them at all ,
i do like them though, but i think that the vw print wont last long, cant be too bad for a fiver though, ill have a go at screwing them in then
-
hi mate
i have some originals and sorry to say but they dont look like that :undecided:
i took mine off because my cars slammed and cant take the bumps with them on so your welcome to buy them if you like?...i have all four as well
if you send me a personal email i can give you my number.
-
I used to sell them 10 years ago!...there not genuine and where he gets the £26 from is fkn crazy!!
oh and they just clamp on to the wheel arch....allthough they will be difficult to fit the gti with the plastic archs still fitted
-
i stupidly bought these the day i got my golf... they just will not fit
-
I looked at these ages ago and then saw some genuine ones - they look nothing alike at all
there is a site on the net that sells genuine ones - they fit very easily

I bought a set from GSF.
They weren't what I was expecting.
I think one set were just black, with no logo. And the other set (think the rear ones) had a 'Golf' logo in black.
Not the VW logo like I was expecting. They are still in my garage from 7 months ago.....

Mikester will look for it and post it up

Definately not original dude & nothing to do with a MK3 I'm afraid. They are a universal shape & you'll probably find them cropping up all over the shop with different logo's.
Original ones fit the contour of the wheel arch/bumper but are only screwed in place with black self-tappers. So you could just screw them on, but tbh I'd get your money back & get some OEM ones!
-
Where can you get the OEM ones, except VW dealers. lol
-
Breakers, fleabay...
Got mine on eBay, new & unused! Car came with front flaps though when I got it.
-
Have you got a pic that i can see them in? Not sure if i want them, but they might look awesome.
-
to be honest with you, i do like them, i think they look smart with the blue vw logo, im gunna fit them and see how they look,
im not really one of theese vw heads who has to have every part genuine i only got a 1.4 wich cost me peanuts and will probly not last too long, haha
