Title: MOMO steering wheel
Post by: Blazing Storm on 21 February 2008, 17:21
Does anyway have a pic of a MOMO steering wheel they have fitted to a 90 spec MK2 Golf? Just want to see if with the hub adaptor it looks very out of place.

Cheers

Doesn't look out of place from that angle.

Have you got a side pic of the actual hub? Sorry to be a pain. I'm just worried it'll look odd where it connects.

Cheers dude. Nice to see you've got your GTi btw.

Get yourself Koni shocks with Eibach springs or Weitec coilovers, fit an Eibach Anti-roll bar kit, get full wheel alignment done, get a performance cam fitted (Kent cams are good), fit a full stainless steel exhaust system and K&N induction kit, and then get the engine tuned up properly and you're laughing. You'll wonder why you ever doubted MK2 Golfs. To gain more performace you could then fit a 2e bottom end from MK3 Golf and get the existing head port and polished.

To be honest I noticed a huge difference in handling just replacing the old stock suspension for new stock suspension.

I need to get a new job, so many things I'd like to do to my Golf...

Good luck with your GTi anyway.

picking up some 40 or 50mm Apex springs and shocks tonight, got front and rear srtut braces im bidding on ebay. have a stainless steel exhaust back box, looking to get a full powerflow exhaust system and 4 branch manifold fitted. looking into a performance cam ... not sure about the induction kit, heard mixed responses  :undecided:

A K&N panel filter might suit you better then.

I bought one quite cheaply on Ebay I plan to at least try. I can always change to a panel filter later on.

Here's a pic of my momo in my motor:

I think they look great, actually I suppose the boss does look chunky from the side, I'd never noticed that until I just looked at this pic!!! When you are sat behind it you don't notice it at all and that's when it counts. They are great for spirited driving aswell.

It lets you breathe more easily......    It doesn't restrict the air flow as much so on paper it should make the engine more responsive.

About £40 new i think. They're designed for life though, you just give them a clean every 6 months or so. (they actually reckon 20,000 miles but i just can't leave things alone!)

Thanks rubjonny, not looking so great close up on the hub.

As I've started this general thread I have another question: I quite fancy the Eibach Anti-roll bar kit; how easy to fit is it and how much difference to handling would it make fitted alongside a standard suspension setup?

As always, cheers guys.

tbh you dont even see the boss when you're in the car.
eibachs will make a nice upgrade to the handling, however the front one isnt easy to fit as you have to support the engine and drop the subframe down...

Well, I decided to go in a different direction and will now get the clutch changed and sort out the gear bushes/linkages with the money I've been given.

I got a fire extinguisher for my birthday today as well so at least if my car catches fire I can attempt to save it.
