Im looking into getting new plates for th golf and quite like the look of the german ones. Just wondered if you's could recommend anywhere off th net to get them?

I would recomend keeping your original plates in the car as the police seem to be getting strict about different plates....fines are about £30 for having non standard plates too

yes defo clamping down on the plates -my mate gets stopped all the time

got mine from plateman, very nice and they sell the mounts which allow you to change the plates very easily
been on for 6 months, pigs have never stopped me yet

lookin at the plates on plateman :cool:
but do cars in germany hav yellow plates on back or white ones?
as plateman does both................

I'd recommend dubmeister.com mate, they're great, get them in a couple of days, really good quality, but like above, carry a set of legal plate in your boot just in case, some places you'll be ok I had a set on my polo for a year then i got caught out, I got off lightly and just told to change them but some folks get fined and all sorts!

Europlates,ive had mine about a year now with no problems.(i bet i get pulled now).

ive had mine on for well over a year only been stopped once and that was just after i got the car. been followed by traffic cops and they wernt bothered either :D

Thats friendly North Yorkshire Police :smiley:..... shame humberside are much more strict!! and will stop you for anything and everything.. :angry:

speaking of which i was in hull not so long ago and got followed there. never had any trouble :D

Had mine on for about a year until a nice copper from Durham Constabulary pulled me over, fined me £30, took the plates and pointed out that he could do me for fraud!
Mite get some more... :rolleyes:
