Post by: bad-vw-boy on 21 February 2008, 12:57
I have an audi 2.0 short block, with an 8v head, how easy is it to swap it for a 16v head, what mods would i need to do ,and is the compression the same? i would be running it on throttle bodies hopefully....

lot of work, pistons are different resulting in very low compression.  perfect for boost though!  Also you need to swap in the 16v intermediate shaft & oil pump, as well as the dizzy blank, and also the crank timing belt sproket.

In short, its not worth the effort, buy a 2.0 16v block instead ;)
