hey buuddy
you need a rear window that has 3 holes on it.
the gti rear spoiler is bouned and bolted via the 3 holes threw the rear glass.
-
cheers mate...you know where and how much i could get one for??
or would it be cheaper to buy a similar but aftermarket spoiler?
-
or just cut the bolts off the one you have and bond it on

true try that first as you already have it !!

I tried bonding one on before and it came off whilst driving...is there a certain type of bond which would hold it on to the glass and not come off?

I think that atm the 'rage' is to have a hole free glass.. see if maye you could swap your glass for one with whoels with someone?
Try the parts wanted section and the the for sales! :) Good luck

okay, just weird... i bought my 95 1.6 rolling stones golf a month ago  and it came with the GTi spoiler and i was wondering exactly the same thing. basically, you'll have to do the same as me, find a rear window from a GTi/VR6... or you could bond it on nice and strong (dont fancy that myself)

i have been looking for a way to stick a gti spoiler i got from the scrappy to my 1.4 1993 golf, i was gunna use araldite as thats wot halford told me to use but i was then told that araldite can crack the glass,
my friend used to work for peugeot and he said that the peugeot spoiles are stuck on with a special glue that u have to spray the window with, he also said that he has some that he niked and will give it to me :smug:
so im waiting for him to dig it out, but i am getting a little impatient and im thinkin of temporarily stiking it with somthing else,
i did read somthing about someone who used no more nails, sounds like a bad idea though

The unibond NO MORE NAILS "ALL WEATHER" bond in the black gun worked amazingly well by holding my 1kg steel bodied wing mirror on my alfa for 2 years without even creaking... waterproof too....
wathout though... dries white!
