Hi,
On the weekend im going to be cleaning under the bonnet of my 1994 Golf.
Had a little fidle about today. I removed the dipstick and noticed there wasnt a min n max mark. so how do you know when the oil is low?
Plus its hard to put back in like something is blocking it, any ideas?
If so is there any kind of unblocker for it to clear it out and what is good oil to use etc etc.
Just some cheap handly things i can do while im there, clean the air filter out perhaps?
Usual things all you guys do when cleaning the engine.
any and all suggestions will be much appreicated.
Thanks Again!

i think the dipstick has a pattern at the bottom, kind of like a series if dimples, i beleive the top of the pattern is max and the bottom is min. when u say it's getting stuck are you holding it the right way round, the dip stick column bends slightly and the curve of the dip stick needs to follow the curve..

Ahh right ill check it out.
as for the bend that could be a good reason lol sorry me being stupid agen lol.
any tips for cleaning it out oil? what to clean etc? checks?

have a look through the mk3 maintenance and info section... i'd say all of what your asking is in there
also - this thread might help http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=62370.0 (http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=62370.0)
also get yourself a Haynes Manual from Halfrauds or GSF or similar... it will give you all of the basic servicing information that you'll need... start with the basics and then work your way on from there...
