Hi guys where is the ISV?
whats it look like?
how do you all recommend cleaning it?
-
Take off the ignition leads from the black plastic tray then remove the 3 allen head bolts, you'll see the ISV under there, leave it soaking in petrol to clean it
-
Would a good zap with carb cleaner do the trick?
-
what is an ISv and what does it do...... ( i cut hair for a living)........benefits from cleaning..??
-
ISV=Idle Stabilization Valve, helps memter enough air for the engine to idle. If broken or dirty can cause a bad/unstable idle or cause your car to stall.
I cleaned mine out on my 16v with Wynns carb cleaner, just kept sprayin it in there till what came out was clear and not oily/mucky.

Acetone, white spirit, carb cleaner, petrol - any decent solvent will so, just make sure it doesn't react with the gaskets involved. The important thing is that the sliding valve is free to move at all times. Spray with light oil after cleaning.

I though the whole point of this forum was that people that are on here all the time can help out those who dont have the time to fiddle around with their cars 24-7?
