Have you had ur car HPI checked, if not, i suggest you do, as it sounds a bit dodgey...... with the slam panel, and the vin plate. Hmmm

my vin tag dropped off when i was detailing the engine bay....

it was loose when i bought the car, pretty bad place to put it tbh, mounted on plastic isnt a great idea

the VIN number that really matters is the one on the top of the bulkhead

spoke to my mate who works at VW today, he ran my car thru the system, all hunky dorey.......he said to replace the VIN plate he'll need a copy of the V5 and it'll cost £55, takes 48 hrs to process. i reckon i'll find a new plate to mount it when it arrives

tbh dude, hpi checks dont account for much these days, alot of repairs etc are done off record anyhow, and we had a bmw stolen from work which was recovered, that never went on the register even tho we told the insurers we didnt want it back, we did a deal with the main dealer and the insurers, they fixed it up and put it on the forecourt, we got a new car for a good price

the car that was recovered was sold as normal with no trace.

I see what your saying......as long as it's not 2 cars welded together it shouldnt really matter. i might not bother replacing the VIN tbh, wasn't planning on parting with car for a while, spent far too much on it and i'd miss it too much *sniff*
