any bad vibes on buying a uk spec import car ie golf gti mark 5
-
Happy with mine.

does £18495 seem about right for a reflex silver 5 door with cruise control thinking of buying this week
-
has it got 17s or 18s on it?
The Springfield Honda batch are full spec parallel import cars that came through a VW Main Dealer in Holland.
I have a base spec black five door (second GTI Mark V - last one was 06 Steel Grey which traded in for BMW and regrettted it every day thereafter!!). It is my third import ( Leon Cupra bought new in 2003 - sold without difficulty to first viewer - car was cheaper new and thus cheaper second hand so don't listen to the residuals nonsense - only an issue if you are trading in!). I also bought a Golf GT TDI 150 at 18 months old in 2004 and sold it 6 months later for £500 less than I bought it for. Savvy buyers know a good deal when they see one.

I paid £18200 last year for a Dutch parallel import , 3dr reflex Silver with 18" Monzas , cruise and 6-cd changer / armrest . More than happy with mine and wouldn't hesitate buying another import.

got mine last september - 5dr, 18" monzas, cc, 6 cd, xenon, DSG etc etc etc £18999 - got it registered with my local VW garage soon after and *touch wood* everything is totally fine - very happy with the saving of around £6-7k but only x factor is how the re-sale value will be affected by it being an import when i go to replace it. :undecided:

I'm on my 2nd import GTi and hav'nt encountered any problems at all ... even got a reasonable part exchange on my last one. £18495 sounds reasonable for the spec. Keep it in good nick and you'll get a reasonable resale value too!
