Title: Colour blind?

What colour is my golf? I've been calling it helios/helias blue for 2yrs, but have just seen a golf the same colour on the wagen wheels site and they've called it Royal blue..... ???

it's a really dark almost midnight blue metallic, standard VW colour.

sticker in the boot of ya car will have the code on it, then you can look up the name from that...

in my car its next to the spare wheel well. i've put the sticker for my car in my gallery here >> http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/gallery/displayimage.php?album=36&pos=5


so mines LC9Z (they all start with L)

LA5T is medium blue metallic
LA5U is royal blue metallic
LA5Y  is helios blue
LA5Z is stratos blue metallic
LD5Y - monza blue metallic
LP5U - bright blue metallic

couldn't help noticing this comment on the thread you linked to....

sounds like handbags at dawn in clubgti world......think that's why I prefer this site, feels more like a bunch of people who love sharing golfs than primadonnas wanting to be the most knowledgeable about them.....

learn something new everyday!

there is about 14 different shades of helios blue also and they all use the one code! hard as fook to get a paint match!

you saying it'll be a nightmare re-spraying the bonnet? :-\

(last owner left a huge pile of birdsh!t on it, its eaten through the laquer and most of the paint below)

I'd put my money on royal blue metallic.

have a butchers at this, found it on the net.

Its a uk 1990 brochure so it might help.

 :'( Oh no mines going in a few weeks for a respray :o( I dont want it to be a mile out cos Im not having it sprayed in the boot and engine bay, lets hope I can get a match

Even if you dont know the code a decent coachworks will match to whats on the car.

err...now I am confused, just looked at blue  mk2s signature pic, and it says Royal blue......his car is a totally different colour to mine? :-\

p.s. likewise mate v. tidy motor mr modulater, think I might get me a set of them smoked indicators  ;D
