Title: Replacing Brakes on mk4 1.8T
Post by: J5H VW on 18 February 2008, 11:51
Guys,

Anyone know of an online guide (pref with pics) of how to replace discs and pads on a mk4 1.8T GTI (though I dont suppose the model makes any difference).

I need to do this asap, and so on the same note, does anyone have any recommendations?  Should I just go with OEM stuff?  Buy from Eurocarparts?

Any advice would be much appreciated.  Cheers.

Fornt or rear? You will need a special tool to wind the rear calipers in, don't think you do for the front (someone may want to clarify). By the time you have bought the tool you may as well pay someone to do it, that's what I found.

Hope it helps

Need to do both mate...

I was sure there must have been a guide online somewhere.

For the fronts, im pretty sure I just need pads, but on the rear I need pads and discs.
