Title: oil on HT leads?
Post by: tim145tim on 17 February 2008, 17:51
Just changed my HT leads set as one of them had a rubbish connection...

On about 2 of the old ones, when I pulled them out, there was quite a bit of oil on the bottom of them (long end into the spark plugs).

Is this normal?

Dont think the spark plugs have been changed for a while, so that might be it?

That'll be a rocker cover leaking oil into the spark plug ports which also causes misfires etc if too bad. Must be quite bad for you to notice it though. A new rocker cover gasket is about a fiver and dead easy to change. But you have the ABF so you have to take off all the inlet manifold to get to it first!
