I know there is soooooooooo many wonderful things - but what's the one that makes you smile the most........
Steering wheel for me, the noise it makes as it slides through my hands
Had my GTI for 11 months and I still take a breath and smile as I turn the ignition key

the noise

**MK5 GTI**
The wheelspin
lol. Just kidding. I like the interior, so posh and lush.
I also like the fact that when you pull up to a 5 Star Hotel the guy who opens the doors of the really "upper Class" cars will open your doors before his...
Basically the fact that the car has class and like Jeremy Clarkson put it:
A car that you take the kids to school in... And then drive home like you have just been bitten by a wasp
ALSO-
A hatch back that has hotel porters running...The MK5 GTi is the ultimate GTi.
Basically I just love how underrated the car is and how many people it shocks and how much attention it draws.

Mine is something I just discovered by accident the other day (i'm sure everyone else already knows). Its a bit sad but i like how you can get the nearside wing mirror to point down when reversing
Ohh, that and the engine is ok too I guess (previous car was a fiesta).

Welcome to the forum Ricardo.
What you mean the engine is ok? Compared to a Fiesta I would say its incredible. We have a Fiesta ST. Its ok....
lol.

I like the wooosshhhh that comes out of the engine
-
The handling, the noise and the power, all very addictive.
-
The engine, its a fantastic lump thats happy pootling round town, but with a remap can make a reliable and smooth 300bhp

Thanks for the welcome. Maybe I was being a bit harsh with the ok comment, it is pretty awesome coming from the fiesta though the fiesta did have the special feature of brakes that felt like you walking on blamonge ;)

my favourite thing about my mk5 is that it's a mk3 and has character!
-
Character??
Ya.....ryt...
The character of what? The queen Mary 2?
**No offence meant**
-
i like the way the key folds into the fob.so no holes in pockets therefore saving money!!
-
I know it is a small thing but I do love the red glow light's in the front of the cabin - make's me feel like I am in a submarine :embarassed:
I also love the looks it attracts from strangers
-
when you start up and it sounds like my dads diesel audi when it turns over!
when you come home at nite and you lift the bonnet and the turbo is glowin red hot!
-
i like the lift off sound from the turbo whistle especially if you lift off quick doing about 2500rpm with the window down sounds great. That puts a smile on my face every time.
And i like Holy , the sat nav women!!, especially when she sounds all butch when she says "3" hehe
-
I like the exhaust note, not sure you get the same note on the gti, but the ed30 is spot on.

....You beat me to it, Hurdy! I like everything about it too. I still turn around and admire her after parking and walking away - Just like having a second perv on a pretty girl
-
The fact that it manages to attract all age groups and the general charachter of the car, oh and that candy white colour
-
I love how the girls love sitting in it. I love the whiss sound from the turbo and I love the acceleration. I love how it looks 10x better than a normal golf and I just love the seats. Sitting in it is like having a girl wrap her hands around you and hold tight

and yes character... i get to do mods on my car... could easily afford to run a mk5 without modding it but where would be the fun in that? i'm running mine with koni sports coilovers so it doesn't roll thanks

love all above,
but I do love the steering wheel. feels fantastic and looks beautiful.
-
I love the price tag and 2nd hand price......
-
of course my exhaust note of me 32. and also the needles light up blue onthe instruments in a r32, very classy.
-
I can tell you what is my least favourite thing about GTI - the speeding tickets.
-
the seats are very comfy! all the little bits it has and the inside does look great. the front does too :D

Blue dials, and blue tinted glass!

Blue dials, and blue tinted glass!
I agree on blue dials, but tints are too light for my taste. I wish they were a bit darker.
-
- Wind down one window.
- Select 3rd gear.
- Enter a tunnel, preferably under the Alps.
- Add a pinch of right boot.
= My GTi recipe for love.
-
did i mention seats and the arm rest??
-
The small things...
Glowing red needles even when the lights are not on
Coming home lights with xenons
The DSG burp when changin gear, I'll never get board of that.
Bad things....
There's always a 'next mod', with this and the wife I now have 2 holes in pocket
-
All of the above and everything else in/on it?
-
And all the above
And
The way it looks
The way it drives
Oh and the colour

The evil looking sidelights.
