Title: Will the type of oil really matter?
Post by: Ant on 17 February 2008, 13:57
Picked up some 10w/40 for my GTi (which is what I usually use) but didn't notice at first that it's mark for diesel's.

Is it really going to matter? Or am I going to have to extract the litre currently in the sump?

I'm no oil expert, but as long as it was semi synthetic, I would use it.

I'd drain the oil anyway. If you are that worried take it back and get one that's marked up for petrol engines.
