just a quick question, did any of the mk3's ever come with remote central locking or was it just central locking?

not seen any with it on ,mine got a seperate fob but its not oe

all gti and vr models since 95 had remote central locking...mines still using the o.e remote lock! and it still works which seems to be rare...

Still not all post 96 models have them. My 96 valver didn't

i stand corrected....In my original build sheet (luckily my car came with every receipt including the build data)...the 95 golf came with electronic immobiliser and vw anti theft system (central locking with deadlocks). mine also has the factory option of full closure remote controlled central locking cost £160 when new!!

and my mates 96 vr hasnt neither . vws conlog alarm got a remote but thats for the alarm and central locking not just the cl.

I have the OE fobs, but it plays up now and again, how hard is it to replace the fob, how much needs doing?

it looks like its how stingy the buyer was...like i have said £160 was expensive for remote locking and i guess most people will of done without!!

get a kit off ebay and there a doddle to fit lol
