Post by: slowgti on 17 February 2008, 04:10
ive heard you all rambling on about swapping out the engine block for one off a 2.0l engine..

a 2.0l engine off what exactly? and does it all just bolt straight in?

ok so you gots an 8v GTI k-jet with engine code of EV.  what you need is a 2.0 8v lump from a MK3 Golf Passat or Audi, VW code of 2e works, as does audi code of 3a.  Only issue is since you're on k-jet you'll need the TSR dizzy adaptor ring, and you need to swap the dizzy gear from the MK3 dizzy to your old dizzy.

Later MK3 codes work too, but I can't remember the engine codes off had, as do Audi ones, as long as its a 4pot 8v lump it should work!
