Title: Differances between Mk2 + Mk3 suspension?
Post by: c8dhc on 16 February 2008, 21:58
I bought some springs a while ago for my Mk2 Gti 16v and finally got around to fitting them today.

The lad I bought them off said he had them fitted to a Mk3, but were designed to fit a Mk2. Rear ones fit fine but the problem is the fronts don't fit correctly. The top of the spring has a smaller centre on the new ones so the upper spring plate does not fit inside the spring.

Im hoping that if I get hold of some upper spring plates from a Mk3 then that will sort it. Anyone got some/know if they would fit?

If not then its back on with the originals
