as above, a lowered car gives a better stance, and holds the road much better too...IME its amazing how much a standard suspension setup makes the car "roll", but if a lowering kit is fitted the car becomes more taught and stiffer, but most people dont change shocks so ride quality is toss

lowering a car also comes with a negative side, catching on high things like these stupid road humps, car park ramps (thats where my splitter died :() and in some cases it can do your back in if the suspension is really stiff (like race spec coilovers)

two ways to look at this...

the old mans way.....not lower = more comfy ride,no risk of speedhump catching, lower cost and it can go to any garage and it will drive onto the ramps..

the real way = lower more stiff sporty ride & better handling means more cornering speed, who needs a splitter anyhow, who need a healthy back, better looks and its more fun finding a garage that can get the car on there ramps

It changes a golf from a nice looking car to a Stunning deuch touring wagen :D   well thats my opinion!

The handling will improve,  regardless of what make lowering kit it is always slightly beter, the more you pay the better the quality or the better the name, doesnt always affect the over all effectiveness if the lowering kit!

You will probably get a little pissed off with having to slow down over speed bumps but as most people will agree it is absolutly worth it in every way possible!   I have lowerd my GT4 and golf, the golf i used very cheep venom shocks and spings and i couldnt say a bad thing about them!  The gt4 is on rarther pricey coilovers and again... the only diffrence is they are adjustable,   dont pay stupid amounts for the name.  the ones in the middle are usualy a good price AND good qulaity, dont pay more juse for the name.  Either way Lower it!! every time you look at your car you will get that little tingle that makes you smile
