Title: headliner cleaning help tips wanted
Post by: Overseer on 01 April 2004, 21:12

my car has grubby marks where i guess fingers have been poking around. there are some on the sun visors and the headliner above them and some on the sliding light blocker thing for the tilt+slide roof.
plus some other stuff in a couple more places.

i tried rubbing washing up liquid in, and using a damp cloth, but it didn't make much impact.

anyone know a surefire to sort this out?

Nail varnish remover is fairly good at removing most grubby/sticky marks

I have always found Groom upholstery cleaner to be pretty damn good.

You get it in a spray in car shops for about 3 quid a can.

Get some Autoglym dry foam upholstory cleaner or some AutoSmart Brisk dry foam cleaner. That should do the trick and leave no water marks.

use some mr muscle or cif anti degreasant for kitchens, it shifts grease and dirt off most things, smells a bit lemony like ive used it on plastics, leather and carpet and its never stained any.
