Title: Finally got it!
Post by: Wizzkidd on 16 February 2008, 13:32
Finally after loads of messing about.

1994 Volkswagen Golf MK3 1.4 - Maroon

Im focusing on cosmetic at the minute.

With it being a 1994 its got greyish bumpers front and back. need some advice between getting them Kiwi'd haha or Colour coded and if anyone can give me some tips on colour coding.

Iv decided im going to get a De-badged grill and maybe some Coilovers if i have the money and a VR6 spoiler on the back.

Can anyone think of anything else i can add?

Ill add pics to this post later on.

Thanks.

yeah 122k isnt much..the engines will last at least 200k with proper servicing
and coilover will be about £180 and thats as cheap as a suspension kit

if you want to keep the bumpers black use the kiwi... if you really want coded bumpers give painting ago.. but use some plastic primer or the paint will peel fast!!

What do you think looks the best? i cant decide?

Plus i was wondering, driving a 1.4 is slow enough so taking weight from the car has got to be a plus so im going to remove the spare tire from the boot. you have any ideas what i could uuse the space for?

iv heard people using the spare tire hole for subs etc.

get something quicker than a 1.4?

otherwise your insurance could be stupid with a 1.4 with loads of things on it.

I cant think of any cheap things to make it a lot faster, without you having to spend money upgrading the wheels/tyres, brakes, suspension, steering rack etc to be able to cope with it.

For the bumpers.... most of the back to black sprays or black trim wax bottles worked better than shoe polish on mine, the polish trickled off in the rain on my friends too.

Just keep it a 1.4 until it blows and you can affords a 1.8turbo conversion :P

As for the spare wheel, get the AA and then take it out. Thats how i roll! lol
