Why do brakes
sqeek sqeel squeal and how do I stop them?
-
Two reasons.
1. the pads are low, beyond the limit, you here metal on metal squeeking.
2. Road dirt builds up and bakes onto the surface, normal road use isnt enough to burn this off, you can take the pads out and give them a rub down with sand paper, mabey just fit new pads if they are half worn and it realy anoys you.
-
Just another possibility... I've heard that certain disc/pad combinations are more prone to squealing (??)

lack of copper grease on back ov pads? and sand the faces of the discs with sum rough sandpaper, takes all the glase off and gives a bit more bite! jst make sure u wipe em with thinners afterwards!

Buy a can of brake and clutch cleaner. or thiners, but brake and clutch evaporates instantly, sand the disks and pads ( be light with the pads) Clean them off and clean the sliders the caliper bolts that the calipers bolt into as well and apply copper grease to them, an the back of the pads.
