Only if the BS mark and other paraphenalia associated with legal numberplates is printed on them, otherwise, no they are not.
-
Pressed plates are not legal unless fitted to a pre 73 car no matter what colour they are. That said if you use the proper UK font and spacing it'd be an eagle eyed and pedantic copper to pull you up on it.

cheers for clearing that up

It's all about being an in-duh-vidual, innit.
I can think of more interesting modifications one might make than dicking about with numberplates, but that's just me.

I got pulled the other day for having german plates :embarassed: (poor GF in the car being stared at by every passer by) - apparently a week earleir and it would have been a fine!!! i'm pretty sure if it had been raining they wouldn't have bothered. Had to get an MoT garage to stamp it and send off my lil pink naughty slip.
The worst part is I hate them and they were on from the bloke I had it off! just hadn't reached the top of the 'to do' list!
They need a BS symbol and it doesnt matter if they're the right colours or if they have the proper reflective film for cameras. Everyone should change them as they look sh*t anyway- any numpty with half a brain can recognise a british number on a German plate.
Rant over - :nerd:
