Title: termostat goin mad

when im driving my golf it stays between the white marks and 70 but when stan still it gose to the 90. sumtimes it dont move after 30mins of driving any idears????

check the fins on the radiator are clear and the air flaps are free to open, if no flaps check the fan isn't seized up and the motor kicks it in, but 90 isn't worth worrying about, you'll get more economy at that temp, it just could be a sticky gauge, just do your checks on the fluids daily to make sure.  :smiley:

you can get ready mixed or make your own on a 50/50 mix, never just water on its own as it rots the block like mad. get it from most places or motor factors even the super markets stuff is ok!

check the thermostat is opening . mine always stays at 90 what ever the the temp is out side
