Title: heater matrix pressure valve leak
Post by: richard s on 13 February 2008, 21:04
i have a leak on one of the pressure valves that stops the heater matrix from bursting
none of the pipes fitted to the valve seem to leak but the valve is wet underneath
so would i be better off getting a new set of valves or binning the valves and fitting a mk3 matrix

The bypass valve?  Bin it and replace with copper tubing.

My old never had one fitted and it sprayed boiling hot water all over my feet. I was lucky I was wearing leather work shoes and not canvas trainers otherwise I'd have had badly burnt feet!

go for one from gsf or ecp, will be fine.  just make sure its one specifically for a MK3 and then you mknow it wont need the bypass valves :)
