just fitted my DEFI boost guage , not been out for a run yet
but I'm interested to find out what the expected boost levels are?
Anyone got a VAGCOM plot for Ed30 boost ?
At idle my car pulled 22 in Hg , whats everyone else get?

22 inHg idle
24 inHg in gear decel (surprised its so close to idle , on N/A cars this is normally very different to idle)
Boost
generates boost very quickly :laugh:
11 psi dropping to 10 higher up revs , seems pretty stable though.

Audi S3 is 1.2 bar = 17.4 psi for 265 hp
reckon APR must be up at 20 psi for ~300 bhp

wolfbane has Oettinger 330hp remap with a sports exhaust, and he told me his car produces 477Nm of torque, and boost is 1.55 bar at max.
I wonder how long turbo lasts. :lipsrsealed:

Not quite what you want but some info anyway, have done some logs...
Standard gti:Peaks at around 0.65 bar/9.4 psi
Revo'd gti: Peaks at around 1.4bar/20.3psi at aprox 3.2krpm,, problem is by the time your at 6.5k rpm its down to around 0.6bar/8.7psi
I bet Wolfbane's ed30's holding over 1 bar at 6.5krpm..

I have to say Im surprised I cant find any std ref graphs on the web.
Even looking for S3 (new shape) , Leon etc forums for cars that use same powerplant as the ED30
Plenty of std GTI logs on mkv's forum in america but they dont get the ED30
1.55 bar = 22.5 PSI ! Not sure what the K04 is rated to , but will find out.
Kiddfrost are you VAG-COMing then?
So far my ED30 peaks at 0.75 bar = 11 psi , I will check what it is at 6.5krpm tonight :wink:
Interestingly it highlights what Ive always felt , that under some conditions the car does not deliver the full 11 psi on full throttle. Often backing off and re-applying it then delivers 11 !
Seen this in other cars where progressive application to full throttle rather than slamming pedal down achieves more accel!
lots more to follow, I have a benchmark for if /when my valve fails.
and of course an apr remap is soon to happen too...

I know exactly what you mean about slamming and progressively applying the throttle. My theory is (bollox or not) when you slam the throttle down, the ecu pulls back on values more and corrects. When you apply progressively, values tend to keep within parameters, therefore little or no ecu pull back. More times than not, I get a higher peak boost and less retard on the timing when progressively applying the throttle.
I assume you’re talking about the diverter/cut off valve, mine failed after 8k miles of Revo abuse. I installed Revision G in there.. let’s see how long that lasts :wink:
I’ve been doing some before and after data logging because I’ve tried a K&N panel filter. Results are disappointing at the moment as I get more measured airflow with the standard filter! It makes more induction roar and response feels slightly different but I can’t honestly say its better. I’ve still got some things to try before I make a decision on whether to return back to the standard filter.
Keep the info coming,, as Peskarik says, all interesting stuff,,, to some of us anyway :wink:

tonight i did several 3rd gear runs to 6.5 k rpm = approx 7.5 psi (0.5 bar)
even managed to get 12 psi peaks today when applying throttle at higher rpm rather than a long run from 2k upwards.
But the ambient temp was also much lower today

I suppose it all fits in with the power differences between the two at stock. The standard gti pushes about 0.3par/4.3psi at 6.5k rpm
I do all my runs in 3rd gear as well..... Quick, get it mapped and VC it... :wink:

....Most definitely!! Plus the added benefit of less wheelspin. Turbo smoothly rushes in at 1,800 revs.
Also, at higher speeds, not revving too high seems to deliver better acceleration.
