i think my mate might have bought lowering spring set for his mk2 golf with a maximum of 120mm drop. will he incur any problem with 16" wheels

Probably yes, depends on wheel offset, tyre size though.

i think its a 245/45/16 and they were off a vauxhall astra i think as his mate offered them to him

not to mention vaux centre bore is too small, if they dont fit on easily whatever you do dont use the bolts to force the wheels on, you'll never get them off again!

the bore is bigger than the golfs its just a pain lining the bolt up

They will most likely wobble, not good!

in that case they are missing the spiggot rings, measure up the size of the hole and get a set designed for a vw, centre bore of 57.1.  If you dont do this thew wheels wont centre and wobble all over the shop, dangerous as said!
