Well things have been going unexpectadly trouble free with the GTi recently, that said...
Mum, as mums do, noticed 'spots' on the drive & points at me with the old "your VW is leaking oil" acusations. I deny all knowledge but notice the same on the work car park! :undecided:
Anyways, having just fixed an oil leak (cheap filter had knackered the oil pressure switch & seal) I figured it was a bit strange, until I noticed this that is....

Would appear I'll be forking out for a replacement radiator now too! Pity Radweld doesn't fix the rust as well!
So, what are my options, being a 16V does the 8V radiator fit? What about the VR??

lol, I had the same yesterday, noticed coolant leaking out and bought a new radiator yesterday... typical...
This is the cheapest new one I found.. he still has one available. Bit of a bargain

Never use radweld. If it can bung holes in a rad imagine what it's doing to your water pump! The stuff doesn't know where the holes are!
-
Yea, wouldn't use radweld either!
That's interesting, take it hasn't arrived yet? Was going to get a 2nd hand one, but they're the same price as that one new!
Let me know what it's like quality wise when it arrives!!
-
Might have it at home when I finish work so i'll let you know :)
-
Great, appreciate that!

absolutely spot on advice... use radweld once and it knackered a thermostat, water pump and affected the heater matrix most which was a right pain!
instead - use wynns cooling system stop leak - it is much better and won't harm system components

Dont you just love ebay for this!
-
Didn't get here yesterday.. you never know it could get here today :P

typical ebay...when its urgent it takes ages yet when you buy random stuff you dont need its here next day....
-
Popped into the locak stealership & original VAG ones are only £80+VAT so less than twice the price than eBay (if you take into account the postage)
So going to do that I think, for the sake of an extra £30?!
-
Hell, you'll get it quicker!
