Guys,
I've now started to look at the mk4 GT TDI 130 as recommended by you guys.
I want to ensure I actually purchase a factory built 130 and not a smaller version that has been chipped/remapped to offer 130. I wish to remap it myself (up to 170 i believe).
Is there an easy way to spot a true factory built 130?
Thanks,
CS

boot sticker in the boot - look for 96kW.
that denotes its a 130 :afro: anything else is a fake

Cool nice and easy then when you know how.
Anyone have an example of the sticker? I'm guessing its under the boot lining somewhere.
96kW here i come :)

no probs; if it isn't there then ask the question what's happened? may well have been involved in an accident. if its a genuine reason then you can find the KW rating in the front of the service book

isn't the engine code on the engine too?
the sticker on the boot is the best way and probably the easiest.
although the exterior badges can't be relied on, the engine covers were generally correct, although i'd only trust the sticker or service book.
