thanks
-
I think BM were takin the piss, 10.5k WTF!! I think about 13-14k sounds about right but I stand to be corrected
-
I bought my sept 05 Gti Dsg last week 24k, Red, xenons, leather, nav, 18's, every extra, etc etc........
Paid 16k for it private.... probably get somethin around that for it
Seen them advertised on autotrader from 12k to 18k so pick a number in between!!!!
-
apparently the options are worthless,he couldnt answer as to why 2 120d sports on there fourcourt both the same age and simerlar mileage were different prices wasnt because 1 had navi and xenons and the other didnt..... gits
-
If you can, sell it privately as dealers will only give you bottom dollar so as they can make as much profit on it as possible!
Try pistonheads, it's free, thats where I bought mine....
Don't believe the crap they tell you about extra's not worth anything, I could have bought an 05 Gti for 2/3k less but spent the extra to get full spec
Good luck
-
thank you, so how do i value it then.
-
Never been a Beemer fan anyway. Always best if you can sell privately or go with the same marque

Don't know really,
I've bought a lot of cars on it, I'm in Ireland so I've never sold a car on it as its mainly used by Uk buyers so no use to me for selling,
You'll get idiots and canvessors no matter where you advertise imo
At least its free, so if you get pissed off you can just withdraw the ad!!
Pity I didn't see yours before I bought mine as I wanted a candy white Gti!!!

Never had any problems, just sold my Audi S3 last week through Pistonheads. I only had 1 call from one of those agencies and just hung up, but you can use phonesafe as the contact number if you don't want to publish your own number, phonesafe is basicly a server that blocks most agencies getting through.

Im from Gibraltar but sold my GTI last week for 13.5k...its a basic GTI lol..3 door, 17" Monza's, Tartan interior, centre armrest etc....but the thing is here i think cars hold their value abit better as there are not alot of cars like this in the market for sale...must have been the only second hand GTI for sale for about a month
-
Pistonheads gave me more feedback when selling my last car than any other forum it was advertised in.

hi i dont care about the canversers its the people who want a test drive that im worried about never privatley sold a car b4.we had a go in a mazda mx5 sport today very nice though cant believe it was nearly 19k and had no air con......
-
it is nearly 3 years old, they say 55% -60% of original price,so around 13k private sale.dealers less 11.5k part ex.not bad really when you compare to other cars.

DON'T DO IT............ not an mx5!! lol
I wouldn't go from a Gti to one of those!! thats just my opinion
If your worried about people test driving your car....... don't let them unless your 100% that their a serious buyer with proof of insurance and a hefty cash deposit
-
ha ha the wife likes it i prefer bmw z4 but then id have to take it to bmw, there arseholes. porsche boxster is nice but the nearest dealer is tonbridge about 50 miles away. its the insurance thing that im worried about

Yea the Boxster would be a better buy..... If it's the 3.2S
Think of the fun you could have on the 100 mile round trip!!

Just to help out on the px value of this going on it being a 3dr is around £11750
if it was mint.
Glass's Book money, £12950
Adjust for over mileage, -£1100
Plus Leather, £500
3 owners - Kicks it for about -£600 as its going to be hard for a dealer to explain why the car changes owner pretty much every year.
If anyone else ever wants to know the right px price at a dealers pm me an il give you the book price for your car.

Price £14,450
Spec: Red
1.Full Leather Interior
2.Monza II 18inch Alloys
3.Tinted Windows
4.Xenon Headlights
5.Sunroof
6.Armrest with 6 CD Changer
7.Winter Pack
8.GTi Floormats
Had a bit of interest so far, thought I had sold it a couple of weeks back but the chap went for a mint 06 Astra VXR which was a few hundred cheaper... fair enough...
Any comments/observations on my asking price?
Only selling as I hope to go away for two months for a trip on the west coast of the USA, then when I come back buy an Edition 30 in white  well, either that or new Civic Type R GT.... or perhaps even an R32
-
Dont do it mate!! The type r that is!!
White edition 30 is the way forward.personally th 32,but i would say that being on my second one!!
Keep it european dont do jap crap, you will regret it when you see and ecition 30 or 32 drive past and think, I WISH I,D STAYED VW!!
Chrissy.

"jap crap" - might of been the case a few years back, but now some jap producers build superb cars. Toyota for example has eclipsed all the major car companies from a market capitilisation point of view... largely driven by the adoption of lean manufacturing principles and TQM... anyway I digress... fair point on the type r, the new one is a bit of step back compared to the old... but I still like the engine and the interior is funky
ED30 would be my preference saying all that... in white with black monza'a
