Can anyone help ?
Got a '90 MKII, everything is working fine 'cept the horn.
Have removed it and put it against a battery works ok - it did die in the end
Bought a replacment horn, still no luck. Fuse is good. Have checked the wiring loom and all seems OK. The lights and anything else that goes through the same ducting are OK.
Have taken the cover off the steering wheel and can't find anything wrong there. Is there anything else inside the wheel except for the brass plate and the plate on the back of the rubber centre cover ?
It's doing me head in. ???
Cheers
Steve

if you put the two wires in the steering wheel together does the horn work?
-
I never have any trouble getting the horn when people push my button ;)

lmao :D

If it works ok when its on the battery but doesn't when put on the car then it may be a break in the wiring somewhere along the line or as mentioned above a dodgy earth.

Cheers for the replies.
Doesn't work when you put the steering wheel wires together. Guess I'll have to go through the wiring and check :( there goes my weekend then :(

Also
Try taking the steering wheel off as it may not be making contact underneath on the copper slip ring.
Sometimes the connector breaks off that runs on the ring and you get no horn.

Cheers for that. Will have a go.
First car I've ever had, mind boggling. :P
Been on motorbikes for 6 years, but just had an accident.
