Anybody else had one like this? Used the hood cover for the first time since buying my '96 Cabrio AG in December....now it won't shut or open on switch. According to the handbook, the power is disabled when the cover is in place. Tried all sorts, cleaning contacts etc but not a bleep from the hood motor!!
Any ideas please? :
-
does it not have a reset button
-
Don't hoods have a series of sensors in the boot to detect the movement of it? If a sensor has gone it could be telling the motor not to work
-
Can't see a reset button and no mention of one in the handbook supplement, any idea where this would be?
I think the cover has sensors on it because the electronics detect when it's on and don't allow raising of hood. It's always worked fine until I used the cover for the first time Sunday.....

There is always a manual override for power hoods which allows you to open and close it manually for such an incident like this
-
refere to the manaul for the above

Can't find a reset button anywhere, have closed the roof manually but no idea how to reactivate the electric motor. Will this be covered in the Haynes manual?

OK finally cracked it....connected the hood pump direct to the battery which re-booted the system...now works perfectly! sigh of relief....
