Title: is every mk1 golf so stiff

is every mk1 so stiff it feels like the world has caved in wen i hit a wee bump?

My mk1 felt alot stiffer wen i first bought it,not too bad now,suppose im just used to it but i know wot u mean about feelin every bump! :P Mines nick-named the tank off the lasses at work cos of its bulk n stiffness! ;D

the only thing stiff about mine is the steering. i feel like ive been to the gym after a run round the block in it.  :D

Mine does sometimes feel like the suspension has just hit the floor  :( The funny thing is I don't think I notice it until I'm in a newer car and they go over some road humps quicker than I would and you don't seem to feel a thing, yet even slowly in mine I can feel the hump (so to speak  :D). So I guess the answer is yes.

All mk1's feel quite stiff to drive compared to later cars.

As vixter said its mainly the lack of power steering.

But then again thats the appeal of the MK1, the lack of creature comforts.

The driving character more than makes up for it.
