pics don't do them justice, looked at doing the light switch but that looks fiddley! Did the heater controls but that needs more bulbs.
I'm happy she's happy!!! For once!!

ye big improvement over the green is blue

i take it you had the easier blue film MAF/ mileage displays (i can tell by the blue colour, done a few for my mates, a really easy job compaired to the late type clocks like mine)

mikester

yeah my thread i did is currently on the first page again, i got my leds from various places, mostly on ebay from different suppliers, i needed some 12 v and the rest were 5 v and i used resistors...

maplin have them but they aint bright at all and are alos a total rip off

So 12v LEDS are just a straight solder in?

thats right, they normally come pre made with a resistor in, easier to get in but the shape can hinder sometimes you have to look at what needs you have, use a resistor when you need lots of lamps for the effects, and the 12v for lack of space and options.
you can get holders for all sizes of standard leds, makes it easier to mount space permitting. I fitted a couple of 10mm yellow leds on my door mirrors cause i was desperate to get my rabbits on the car somewhere, so took the side indicators off the wings onto the mirrors, naff some may think but its my car!!

Yeah, he pretty much has said that its just a case of pullin them out, and soldering in new leds and removing the old, i dont think they clip in like the ones in the speedo.

Maybe looki9ng at doing this myself soon and was looking at the ebay kits. anyone used this one...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-GOLF-GTI-VR6-MK3-BLUE-LED-SPEEDO-DIAL-LCD-KIT_W0QQitemZ140205475761QQihZ004QQcategoryZ72216QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting

was wondering if it was any good? the led's look pretty bright, as i understand from this thread that some can be pretty dull looking!
Also those chrome rings look realy good, are they an ebay item? going to read the thread on changing all these now to see how easy it is to do yourself.

Got the rings from ebay, clip in ones not the stick in ones, think mine came from the states, cost about 16 quid inc post, look really good and a doddle to fit.
