see if you can pick one up down the scrappy?  would only cost a tenner at my local scrap yard. Im alrite at soldering, but my GTI is 93 model anyway!

Rite, so what do these chips do?   What are the pros and cons of it?   Also is removing the rev limiter a bad thing?  the VW engines are made to run up to the limiter safley but not beyond it!  If you were to increase it beyond what its made to do on a stock engine surly its gunna go serious damage FAST?

Basically they MAY give as much as 5bhp! They are supposed to make the power smoother etc.
You can get same bhp increase with a filter and CAT back exhaust. Yes I know those two are a lot dearer than the Blitz/Power chip but if you want to tune further you will need those two anyway!

I thought they basically allow more fuel into the engine or something?
Can't remember off the top of my head

I have this thread though if its any good?

actualy i was thinking that on top of other mods, i mean if its gunna do the same as those resistors and mess things up its not worth it,  but if its a genuine upgrade chip i would think about it for the price
