Post by: Rmachines on 10 February 2008, 23:27: see if you can pick one up down the scrappy? would only cost a tenner at my local scrap yard. Im alrite at soldering, but my GTI is 93 model anyway!

Rite, so what do these chips do? What are the pros and cons of it? Also is removing the rev limiter a bad thing? the VW engines are made to run up to the limiter safley but not beyond it! If you were to increase it beyond what its made to do on a stock engine surly its gunna go serious damage FAST?

You can get same bhp increase with a filter and CAT back exhaust. Yes I know those two are a lot dearer than the Blitz/Power chip but if you want to tune further you will need those two anyway!
