High im new to golf gti's ive normally gone for seats how ever ive always wanted a mk2 and after searching for ages to get a good one i found one. Only prblem is the steering fells very bad the cars lowered 40mm with out power steering but it shouldnt be the way it is i can only say it feels like its seized up and doesnt want to move more than half a turn. Can anyone help me out.

what size wheels and tyres has it got, mine with no power steering 14" and 185's on is heavy if not moving, but thats exactly how i like it, tried 17" with 205's on and was very stiff was worried about wearing trackends out and ball joint stress

check the steering rack boots, one might be twistyed and caught up in the rack gears

IF NON OF THESE WORK THERE IS LIKE AN ADJUSTER UNDERNEATH THE CAR ON THE RACK NEAR WHERE THE COLUMN MEETS THE RACK THERE SHOULD BE A 13MM BOLT IN IT IF YOU TURN THAT SLIGHTLY ANTICLOCKWISE IT SHOULD FREE UP THE STEERING CLOCKWISE WILL TIGHTEN IT ALL UP
