Title: Big bumper problem
Post by: Truesaint86 on 10 February 2008, 19:56
Hi there, I have a mk2 with big bumpers, the front and rear bumpers are hanging loose on the drivers side. I had a look today and the brackets on the bumpers have both broken. Does anyone know if these brackets can be replaced or are they a perminant fitting to the bumper? Also if they are fixed to the bumper, does anyone have any idea's of securing them? It has its MOT next week and i'm guessing they can fail it for loose bumpers.

if its just the brackets which are mounted onto the wing yes you can get them and from gsf .there around a squid each iirc

failing that it will be the bumpers that have broke or the little pegs have fallen out ov the wing mountings causing the bumper to drop .

and yes this would fail its mot on insecure fitted bumpers  hope this helps

I doubt it would fail the MOT, they arn't THAT insecure without the clips.  If you mean the ones actually on the bumper itself they arn't available seperate but if you can find a scrap bumper you can pull them off and fit to yours.  Or rig up sdome kind of custom thing, someone on here rigged something up out of sheet aluminium iirc :)
