Title: cortesy light ??

drivers  side cortesy light  doesnt work i taken it out put in pass side works fine checked there is volts at drivers side and there is!!!!!!!!
 but still dont work any ideas

Yeah not good news sounds like your lock module is fu****  :sad: cost about £70 from vw.  Do you get probs with the locking on that side?

no not at all no lockin probs like i said i tested the wires and theres life in them so dont understand weird a

Yeah ive got the same prob mate. Ive got power there aswell  :shocked: Maybe the switch inside the lock module in the door is faulty, or maybe the soldering has come loose on the circuit board?

i still dont under stand how its not workin if there is power rite up to the plug that plugs into the back of the light  baflin a  :huh:

it is the switch mate m passenger side light did that and manged to get a switch 4 7 quid and had the electrician at work to do it 4 me :cool: :cool:

get a bulb!! bulb blew in mine; got one yesterday and two minutes later all is bright  :grin: :grin:

rhyso the bulb ok i swapped it for pass side all worked fine the power to the plug and there power at either end of the fitting were the bulb sits but still no go weird m8 well weird

have you tried tightning the bulb?? i think they work on a 1/4 turn and if not seated correctly won't light up; worth a try before spunking cash on a new module

and i'd still try a new bulb; even if there is power up to the plug then it surely can only be the bulb  :undecided: couple of quid from a dealer

ah gutted mate  :sad: have  a look on egay for a 2nd hand unit or trawl scrappies; the coutersy light is the same across the range for 3 and 5 door so you should pick one up easily  :smiley:
