Title: sticky paddle
Post by: Bobman on 09 February 2008, 10:55
Hi everyone, slight issue with my MkV DSG GTI, wonder if anyone's had - and fixed - similar....

One of the DSG paddles is, for want of a better word, sticky. The downshift has its usual defined 'click' feel when I press it, but the upshift has gone, er, squashy. It works fine but, as you might imagine, not having the click, and having a more spongey feel, is pretty annoying.

Taking it to the dealer is a bit of a pain because of where I live and, to be fair, I haven't rung them yet, but I wondered if anyone else has managed to fix this type of problem themselves... maybe it's jus a bit of grit or fluff or whatever in the mechanism? I have no idea how easy it might be to check this (especially as I barely know which end of a screwdriver is which!).

cheers

I've had 3 DSG cars, but have never came across this issue before.
