Title: how do i replace the white ball at the bottom of my gear stick

as above ive removed the gaiter the 2 nuts but the plastic piece that allows the car to go into reverse wont come off am i doing it wrong or do i have to go under the car?

you need to go under the car, iirc there are 2 nuts to remove which are under the exhaust heat shield, basically you need to undo the linkage at the gearbox end as well so the whole lever and rod come off as one.

complete pig of a job if you dont have a ramp! I speak from experience :laugh:

And you have to drop the exhaust down for access.

thats great looks like i will be up early tomorrow :sad: when you say drop the exhaust do you mean from the manifold and tale it off the mounts then? or take off the backbox?

you will need to remove centre section or depending on how old the exhaust system is from the cat back removed
